Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to make an appointment for an Estimate?

We accept walk-ins as well as appointments. However, to best suit your needs we recommend you make an appointment. Our estimates will take anywhere from 20-30 minutes for collision and 90 minutes for hail. Hail estimates do require an appointment and insurance approval. Please call our office for more details. After your estimate, we will be able to advise you on repair procedures. We will also be able to give you an estimated cost to repair your vehicle and the amount of time to repair your vehicle. We do caution everyone that estimates can change due to underlying damage. After we bring your vehicle into the shop for repairs we will assess it for underlying damage. In the event that there is additional or supplemental damage we will advise on any changes that may affect the amount of time your vehicle is in the shop.

How long will my repairs take?

The time to repair your vehicle will vary depending on the extent of the damage. After your estimate, we will be able to advise you on repair procedures. This will give you an idea of cost, and time frame of repairs. When we bring your vehicle in for repairs we will perform a “Damage Analysis”. During this process we will take every piece that is damaged on your vehicle off. This will allow our highly trained staff to determine how far back the damaged has traveled. This will help us to give you a better idea of how long it will take to fix your vehicle and if we need to bill your insurance company for any additional, supplemental, damage.

When can I wash my car?

You can wash your car right away if you would like. We have a state of the art down draft paint booth that has a bake cycle that helps to cure the paint on the vehicle. We do take the time to wash your vehicle when we have completed repairs so you shouldn’t need to wash it right away. We do recommend waiting at least 2 months before you apply any wax to your paint.

Do you have a warranty?

Yes, we do! We are extremely proud of the work we do here at American Auto Body. That is why we offer a lifetime warranty for the repairs we did on your vehicle for as long as you own it. If you ever have any questions regarding your warranty or our repairs, please do not hesitate to give us a call.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, debit cards, and cashier’s checks/certified funds. We can also accept visa, MasterCard, and Discover. We do charge a 3% fee on credit card charges over $1,000. We no longer accept personal checks.

How do you decide if my vehicle is a total loss?

Unfortunately we do not decide if a vehicle is a total loss, this choice is up to your insurance company. Your insurance company will decide if your vehicle is a total loss if it costs more to fix your vehicle than your vehicle is worth. If your vehicle is determined a total loss, we will help guide you through that process.

Will the rental be arranged for me?

Every insurance company, insurance policy or insurance claim are different regarding how they would like your rental to be handled. If you need help or have questions we are happy to help guide you through the rental process. It is beneficial for you to contact your insurance company, or the insurance company covering repairs, to inquire about rental coverage for your claim.
